Born on October 5, 1922, in a serene village named Mangarh near Allahabad (now Prayagraj) in Uttar Pradesh, Kripalu Ji Maharaj showed signs of divine wisdom from his earliest years. Even as a child, his heart was absorbed in devotion to Lord Krishna, and his mind reflected an astonishing command over sacred scriptures. He completed his studies in Sanskrit literature and philosophy, but his true purpose was far beyond worldly education — it was to share divine love with humanity.
To bring this divine message to life, Kripalu Ji Maharaj envisioned Prem Mandir — the Temple of Divine Love — in Vrindavan, the sacred land where Lord Krishna performed his enchanting leelas. Completed in 2012, Prem Mandir stands as a spiritual jewel of modern India. Made entirely of pure Italian marble, the temple’s walls are adorned with intricate carvings depicting the eternal pastimes of Radha and Krishna. By day, the temple glows in the sunlight, radiating peace and purity; by night, it illuminates the sky in dazzling colors, symbolizing the light of divine love that Kripalu Ji Maharaj spread across the world.
But his contribution extended beyond architecture and spirituality. Under his divine guidance, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP) was established — a charitable and spiritual organization dedicated to uplifting humanity. Through hospitals, educational institutions, and women’s welfare initiatives, JKP continues his vision of serving society with compassion and selflessness. Kripalu Ji Maharaj always taught that true devotion is incomplete without service to mankind, for every soul is a part of the Divine.
